Gary served his apprenticeship with Scott Engineering, a company that specialised in conveyer systems of hard to move food products. He progressed into the orchard industry after that, and then spent seven years as a maintenance fitter at Progressive Meats.
In 1991, Gary joined Wassco Engineering for a two week assignment. At the end of the fortnight, Tony said, "You might as well come back on Monday," and Gary has been there ever since. He took over the day to day running of the business in 2001. His ingenuity and inspiration has been a major driving force in the growth of the company.
Wassco Engineering is a company that recognises the need to retain good staff. Low turnover has helped to develop an extremely high level of skill the workshop, and a pool of engineers with many decades of collective experience.
We have highly skilled sheet metal operators, and specialists working in the areas of welding, pneumatics, high pressure pumps, machining, and glass bead sandblasting.
This expertise can be seen in all the machines produced by Wassco Engineering, and is the reason they are ideally suited to building one-off designs for industry specific problems.
Our glass bead finish meets the US Department of Agriculture standards for hygiene and cleanliness.
Wassco Engineering has proudly served the meat and food industry and a variety of other
clients for over thirty years. We look forward to working with you too.
