Wassco Engineering was founded in 1980 as a one-man company for general engineering and maintenance work. But Tony Wass' reputation for listening to customers and solving their problems led to the need to hire more staff.
1991 was a major turning point in direction when Gary Neal joined the company. The focus shifted from maintenance to include the development of product lines using a higher level of technology.
During the mid nineties, Tony was asked if Wassco Engineering could develop a French racking machine – the type of question that is always answered with a 'yes.'
Other models in the market used lots of water and power, and were difficult to operate and clean. So, the team focused on a design that was easy to clean, easy to operate, and more environmentally friendly.
Ongoing research and development has refined the water frencher to the point it uses approximately one quarter of the water, and one sixth of the power in comparison to other machines – without any loss of efficiency or performance.
This example of Wassco Engineering's ability to find innovative solutions is the reason their water frenchers are found all over the world.
